Stardust Cookies

Try this quick and easy variation on the Star Burst cookies: dust your colored stars with a little powered sugar for a little extra sweetness. Don’t forget the napkins!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) Challenge Butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • red and blue food coloring
  • powdered sugar

Directions

    To make the cookie dough, start by creaming the butter. Then gradually add sugar and flour. Beat until light and fluffy.

    Divide the dough into three equal portions. Add red food color to one portion and blue to another. Keep one portion uncolored.

    Center each portion of dough into its own gallon-sized plastic food storage bag and chill dough anywhere from 20 minutes to several days.

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut out stars with 3-inch star shaped cutters, and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes or until edges are slightly browned.

    Remove cookies from oven and dust them with powdered sugar, either with a shaker or by gently shaking them in a bag with powered sugar.
