Berry Topped Stars
A fresh and delicious way to enjoy star-shaped shortbread cookies. Blend butter, cream cheese, and sugar into a delightful cream cheese topping and spread it on your cookies. Thinly slice strawberries and arrange them with blueberries on top.

- 1 cup (2 sticks) Challenge Butter
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
Topping
- 2 tablespoons Challenge Butter
- 4 ounces Challenge Cream Cheese
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar
- 2 pints fresh strawberries
- ½ cup fresh blueberries

1To make the cookie dough, start by creaming the butter. Then gradually add sugar and flour. Beat until light and fluffy.

2Divide dough in half, center each portion into its own gallon-sized plastic food storage bag, and roll to ⅛-inch thickness. Chill dough anywhere from 20 minutes to several days.

3Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut dough into stars with a 3-inch star shaped cutter.

4Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes or until edges are slightly browned. Remove from oven and allow cookies to cool.
Topping

1Blend together 2 tablespoons of Challenge Butter, 4 oz. cream cheese and ⅓ cup powdered sugar (have ingredients at room temperature).

2Spread baked cookies with cream cheese topping and arrange thin slices of strawberries and a few whole blueberries on top.
