Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cream butter, sugars, spices and salt until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder and stir into butter mixture. Mix well.
Scoop the dough into balls using a small cookie scoop or chill dough slightly and form into 1-inch balls. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet about 1½-inch apart.
Bake about 12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
