Flourless Dark Chocolate Torte

Talk about simplicity: this elegant torte is made with five ingredients and takes just a few minutes’ prep before going into the oven.

Flourless Dark Chocolate Torte
  1. 1 cup (2 sticks) Challenge Butter
  2. ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. ¾ cup sugar
  4. 3 large eggs
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  6. 1 Tablespoon powdered sugar

    Preheat oven to 375⁰F. Butter the sides of a 7 to 8-inch spring form pan and line bottom with a round of parchment paper.

    Melt butter in microwave in a 2-quart batter bowl. Blend cocoa and sugar into melted butter.

    Whisk in eggs and vanilla. Pour batter into prepared pan.

    Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until center tests done.

    Allow cake to cool. Remove side ring from pan. Transfer cake to serving plate and dust with powdered sugar. Slice in thin slices.

Could you use like Splenda instead of sugar??????

@Sarah The powdered sugar is used for dusting the top. You could leave it off if you prefer.

Challenge Dairy

Recipe calls for 3/4 cups of sugar, to blend with the cocoa, not just 10X sugar for the top. You might be able to sub with Splenda, but you might want to try one of those "light" sugar/stevia blends first...?
