Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Gradually blend flour into creamed mixture.
Roll dough ¼ to ⅓-inch thick on lightly floured cloth-covered board. Cut into small shapes. (Makes about 4 dozen cookies 1½ inches in diameter and ⅜ inches high.)
Place ½-inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 15-18 minutes or until set.
