Candy Corn Crispy Treats

Did you know there is a trick to making these treats extra soft and chewy?

It’s the butter!

Challenge Butter to be exact! By adding a few more tablespoons of butter you can get those soft and chewy rice crispy treats that everyone goes bananas for!

You can melt the butter down in a large saucepan or in the microwave for an even quicker treat. I like the stovetop because I feel like it melts the marshmallows a little smoother.

These treats were so fun to make. I love how the marshmallows turned into an orange color!

Once you add the rice cereal, remove it from the heat and stir until they’re all moistened with the buttery marshmallow mixture.

Candy Corn Krispies

Add the marshmallow treats to a lightly greased dish and use some parchment paper to gently press the cereal into an even layer. Try not to press to hard, or the treats will become too dense and lose that soft and chewy texture.

While the treats are still warm, press a few candy corn pieces on top and then let the bars cool. Once they’re cool drizzle some white chocolate over the top and let that cool.

All that’s left to do is cut them into squares and enjoy their soft and chewy, candy corn goodness!

Ingredients

  • 6 Tablespoons Challenge Butter
  • 10 oz. candy corn flavored marshmallows (or miniature marshmallows would work too)
  • 6 cups puffed rice cereal
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup candy corn candies
  • ¼ cup white chocolate candy melts, melted according to package instructions

Directions

  • 1
Line a 9”x9” baking pan with foil and lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
  • 2
Melt the Challenge Butter in a large pot over medium heat, until melted. Stir in marshmallows and keep stirring until the marshmallows have melted and are smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the rice cereal and salt, until the cereal is coated. Pour mixture into the prepared pan and use a piece of parchment paper to gently press into pan.
  • 3
Sprinkle the top with the candy corn pieces and let cool. Once cool, drizzle with the white chocolate candy melts and let harden.
  • 4
Remove treats from pan and cut into squares. Enjoy!
