Easy Baked French Toast
- ¼ cup (½ stick) Challenge Unsalted Butter
- 3 large eggs, beaten lightly
- ¾ cup milk
- 8 (one-inch) slices French or Italian bread
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 400°F.
In a large flat dish, combine the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Let the bread soak in a single layer in the mixture for about two minutes. Turn it and let it soak until all the custard is absorbed.
In a large flat baking dish (9" x 13"), melt the butter. Add the bread in a single layer.
Bake for 15 minutes. Turn the bread over and bake 10 more minutes or until golden on both sides. Serve with maple syrup, powdered sugar, jam or fresh fruit.
